Speakers
Emily Wolinsky, the Director of the internationally recognized Dear Julianna social media letter writing campaign to increase public awareness that living into adulthood with a neuromuscular disability (NMD) is possible with access to medical and assistive technologies. She is President of NMD United, a peer-led, non-profit organization that she co-founded in 2013.
Dawn Gibson, a Detroit based independent health activist and writer with a focus on Spoonie issues, working to expand the awareness, understanding, and acceptance of those living with life altering chronic health issues. Dawn will talk about #SpoonieChat, an effort to organize peers for support and to reduce stigma.
Savannah Logsdon-Breakstone, who manages the social media for Autistic Self Advocacy Network across platforms and promotes the development of autistic and cross disability culture, educates the grassroots, and tries to connect people with problem solvers in the community.
Caitlin Cutt, Social Media Coordinator for DisBeat, the PR initiative of the ADA Legacy Project.
Melanie Gleason, a social justice attorney currently traveling the U.S. giving pro bono legal services through her project, Attorney on the Move. She will discuss how to use social media to connect with those who are following your work.

Background
The Organizing Workgroup of the National Disability Leadership Alliance hosts these calls the third Tuesday of every month as a resource for disability organizers, in an effort toward building the organizing capacity of the disability community across the country. They generally follow the format of a Welcome followed by 2-3 experts in a given area speaking for a few minutes on their experiences, advice and challenges. The calls include a 20-30 minute question and answer period.
To ask questions via CART: Sign-in to the Chat function on the right side of the transcript and type your question. One of the call facilitators will read out any questions posted there.
Because we want to maximize the generously donated CART services, we will begin the call promptly at 1pm and end the call promptly at 2pm (eastern time). A few other reminders about call etiquette:
